Lampshade

it was a rather grotty weekend weather wise,
my boys where both busy with friends and my husband was tucked up in bed reading so with the option of house work or creating a lamp shade,i chose the second (no surprise!) it certainly stands out, the glow coming from it is rather lovely, what do you think?

as always i am sending shots of my latest paper kit before it is even complete, i find that by looking at it this way, i see any changes i need to make.

i must say it made my heart do a little dance when i made it up, it's as if the famous little poem sprang into life!

i just popped in for a wee look at my jolly little etsy shop and was rather shocked at the amount of visitors today, low and behold my little houses have been featured on etsy's front page and blog!

i'm so excited1 i am putting the finishing touches on my first set of printables!

i am thinking about selling front and back pillow/ cushion fabric panels in my etsy shop, with the idea that you can very easily sew your own,

pretty hydrangea flowers

it's pretty well winter here in New Zealand but that doesn't stop us going on our weekly walk.

i noticed as we walked up the hills this morning that the hydrangea bushes where looking very faded.

the lovely thing is that on closer inspection they very defiantly aren't, as this photo shows!

i absolutely love these!, what gorgeous colours, even the brown spots look pretty! it goes to show, we should all stop occasionally and look at our wonderful world up close!

yum, whale meat anyone?

as i mentioned previously,

i was having a little look through some of my old books and things and i found this cook book printed during the war when rationing was in full swing, along with all sorts of very dubious sounding recipe suggestions i couldn't believe my eyes when i spotted this one for whale meat!

yuck!

i was rummaging through some of my 50's books and found this colour chart.

i love the bright sunny kitchen!
i think that's why i'm such a fan of mid last century, they really didn't take colour so seriously!

fallen leaves

i was walking home from a walk to the village to have my monday morning catch up with nancy a good friend. i spotted these little leaves along the way and thought that it would be lovely to photograph them because lets face it, they are hardly noticed blowing in the wind and really they are quite beautiful don't you think!
