Silk scarf!
After a lot of trial and error I have finally achieved the result I am after and found the most beautiful silk scarves manufacturer!
This is my test design which I will be delighted to make available very soon, it features our native Piwakawaka or Fantail,
I've put it around my neck and I don't think I'll ever take it off!
Oh yes! I am THRILLED to say I have been featured on Etsy! what a fantastic week!

20% off everything Celebration!
Summer is slowly coming to an end for us here in New Zealand.
It's been so lovely but there's a sudden chill in the air even thought the sun's still shining.
The nice thing about being connected to the wide world is that I am seeing how delighted everyone in the northern hemisphere is about the first signs of spring. Somehow it's worn off on me and has inspired these 2 new very springy prints!
I have just seen that I have made my 1000th sale in my Etsy shop! To celebrate, I am taking 20% of everything from the 23rd of March (this Monday) till the 31st of March.
Thank's so much for making my little shop such a success!
I couldn't have done it without you!

My new scarf collection!
It's taken me a while but at last here they are, my very first scarf collection!
I must say, I gasped when I received the fabric to make these.
The colour and detail are amazing! The feel and quality of the fabric is so sumptuous!
I love the way a scarf gives me an instant lift, you'll seldom see me without one.
Perfect for the changing season.
They are available now in my Etsy shop!
Oh yes, aren't my models beautiful, can you believe these photos havn't been retouched.
They are my good friend Nancy's girls, her son's friend and my darling sister.

my latest fabrics have arrived!
I don't know about you but I am always a bit nervous opening anything I've bought on line. I have had some major disappointments (silk scarves that looked so, so awful! )
A parcel arrived today and I knew straight away it was fabric that I had ordered for a scarf project I have been developing. I hoped so much that I wouldn't be let down, I needn't have worried, the colours, the detail, the quality of the fabric, perfect!

Mudpuppy illustrations
Sometimes I almost forget about work I've done, Mainly because I can't share projects till they are published and they end up filed away in the dark recesses of my computer!
I found these this morning, they are for a puzzle and notepad for Mudpuppy.
I had fun cutting these!

scarf designs
As you may have seen in my past posts, I have been determined to create a collection of scarves featuring my designs and finally here we are! I am sharing the end of the front and back of each of my initial 6 designs as they are too long to show completely.. I've tried to create different looks, for different outfits and moods because being a constant wearer I know how much I enjoy variety!

Finished little Mr and Mrs paper sculptures
As you can see from my previous post, I have added a few details here and there (a handbag and briefcase) To complete them I've also added the top of their heads.
I think they look like they are waiting for the bus to take them into town.
I don't know what the little birds are saying to them but I am sure there is a delicious sandwich in the briefcase!

finished scarf
I'm so sorry for my lack of posts of late, I have been busy working hard on another lovely book, I'm nearly finished so I'm taking a moment to share with you my latest project success!
As you may know, I have been working on a collection of scarves, my first attempt at ordering on line was a complete flop, the company who produces them admits that they won't look the same as the art work, well that's an understatement! they are washed out and the colours have run horribly.
I have had to go back to the drawing board and have decided that to produce truly beautiful quality with a sharp, vibrant print I need to make them myself and so here we are,
This long scarf is made from a sumptuous fabric, not silk, actually nicer in my opinion as it has a lovely weight which makes the scarf sit beautifully,
This design is quite summery the next designs will be suitable for cooler days.
I'll send new designs as soon as they are finished!
