Hollyhock flower
I've fallen head over heals in love with Hollyhocks! this one appeared out of the blue in my garden, since then I've googled images of this beautiful flower and am amazed at how many varieties there are. I'm off to the garden center, my dream is to have a whole mass of them blooming away in all their glory!

paper cut decorative art

peak a boo! cut paper art
the boys are nearly back at school and I'm rearing to get back into work (if I can call it that!)
I'll have to prepare some paper today, (pre paint the sheets that I cut out)  some new colour shades will certainly inspire me.

Wedding paper cut

It's a great day for a wedding!

Summer photos

I have to say, our summer here in Wellington has been average at best. We have had everything from cloudy, stormy and windy. I am so happy that they have finally predicted a spell of settled weather.
I love these mornings where the light and breeze are soft, the sun is out and everyone is out and about, walking and enjoying the beauty of our special little place.
I took a stroll this morning and here are just a few of my picks, enjoy!

It's a boy! Elephants paper cut illustration

Unfinished!

I haven't even finished my previous paper cut and I'm already half way through the next one!
after having not touched a scalpel for several weeks it's been such fun! I have 8 to complete in all,
2 down 6 to go!
I purchased a fab book the other day on Etsy. It is a 1956 "Better Homes and Gardens"
Decorating Book.
I though you might like to see some of the interiors it features, don't you think it's amazing to think these are over 60 years old! look at the riot of colour in the bottom one!
Oh yes, the flower is a Cosmos, I have a bit of a thing for flower middles! they are so often ignored!

It's lovely to here form you Rachel and Jane! thanks for your kind comments, they are always so appreciated!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I have returned from a fantastically lovely Christmas in Warkworth, north of Auckalnd,
Sunny days spent with my husband's family, swimming, walking, boating, eating (too much eating!)
I am so lucky to have married into such a wonderful family!
Thank you so much to those who commented on their hopes for this year, overwhelmingly it's obvious to me that we all want the same thing, time to enjoy the simple things.
I have found over the past few years (as I have gotten older!) that I more and more enjoy the littlest things in life, the smell of a fragrant flower or freshly brewed coffee, the sea when it's completely calm (as treat here in the windy city!) my childrens enthusiasm, an "I love you" from my dear husband.
I don't like having to chose but I would like to send an item from my shop to Deb Wall and the lovely lady who touched me with her message of loss and wishing for a camera, can you please send me your email address (you can contact me by clicking on the button on the right) and the item you would like from my shop  and I will send it right away,
