i'm still working away on the books but couldn't resist taking a moment to experiment with some groovy patterns, what do you think?

it's sunday morning and once again the weather is gorgeous, so much for winter! it's warm and still which is a real bonus when you live near the ocean!

i received a copy of little treasures magazine yesterday,along with 5 other artists, it features a collage i created using papers they they supplied.

they will be framed and sold on trade me to raise money for charity.

i enjoy posting shots of my weekly second hand shop finds, this book is filled with the grooviest illustrations, very inspiring!

i just noticed that chocovenyl have taken new shots for their web site, i think they look lovely and fresh, it's nice to see the princess design as i haven't put it up at home, my boys just wouldn't approve!

 

my youngest loves the beatles, so i took some of his cd's,  arranged them on an a3 piece of card,had them laser printed (at my local photocopy center) onto fabric and then had it made into a shade at my local lighting shop, a previous post shows the same technique using one of my designs,

simple, original and he loves it!

My dear friends, i am so sorry for my lack of posts, i am currently designing a huge new range for lantern studios and illustrating a series of childrens board books, as you can imagine it doesn't leave me alot of time (what with being a mum to 2 boys too!)

as soon as they are finished at the very beginning of july, i will be ripping into a fabulous new project that i will be launching here and on my etsy shop, it involves my designs as craft projects for you to create! so please keep a look out! i think you'll love them!

 I TOLD MY SON, HE DOESN'T HAVE TO READ THE ROAD CODE FOR HIS DRIVERS LICENCE, IT'S ALL HERE ON THIS RETRO TIN I RECENTLY FOUND!

HERE ARE A COUPLE OF ITEMS I MADE A WHILE AGO. THE LAMP FEATURES A CUT PAPER COLLAGE AND THE HOT AIR BALLOON IS MADE OF FABRIC SCRAPS WRAPPED AROUND A STYROFOAM BALL.

it's monday morning and it's time to get back to work after a lovely breakfast with my mum and sister,

i think i'll work in the living room today!

the only room i'm not so fond of in our new house is the laundry room. we've just bought a new fridge and paul decided that a lick of paint might freshen it up. i however have seen it as an opportunity to put up the sample chocovenyl decals i was given a while ago!

i'm so excited! i have been commissioned to illustrate children's books, so i'm going to be very busy in the next couple of months, along with creating a new, fab range for lantern studios.

the books will have a mod, retro feel so i've dug out my collection of 50's books for inspiration. here are just a few cute spreads.

oh yes.... i am also working on a very exciting new project for my etsy shop, it involves products for you to craft! at etsy prices!  watch this space!

my latest find!

 it's a beautiful autumn day here in eastbourne, i'm about to go for a lovely long walk along the beach. i love finding interesting bits of wood, draging them home (my husband paul loves me!)and making them into silly objects for the garden.

it's the school holidays and i've just come back from a short trip to the wairarapa with my mum, nephew and sons. it's been quite cold and rainy so i grabbed the opportunity to visit one of my fave second hand shops. i was thrilled to find these classic annuals, i love the colours and style especially the very trendy lady in her state of the art kitchen!i can see she is already multi tasking, it's obviously not a new thing!, i also found a couple of other cool items which i will post tomorrow. the shot of the beach is of us cooking dinner on a fire on the beach down by lake ferry, it's a beautiful rugged part of new zealand right at the bottom of the north island.

i'm not sure if you have seen these!

this sweet little cross is a project that my very clever sister jutta created for the sunday school children to make this easter at church.she's amazing at finding simple materials such as drinking straws, coloured wire and pretty sequins and making them into something very unique and special, this reminds me of mexican craft work, which i love!
