50's fabric and candle stick

I was rummaging through my stash of fabric and found this classic 50's shower curtain fabric,
how classic this is, poodles bathing, many would call it kitsch, I call it fabulous!
I love the candle stick too, i can arrange the wooden layers as I like, it goes well with in earthy corner!
Lastly, don't you love the way this orange daisy unfurls, it starts of very haphazard!

Kina gallery, here in New Zealand is having it's annual Christmas exhibition.
Each piece has to be created on 20 x 20 cm boards.
I have wrapped mine in water colour paper,
it gives it a lovely finish and perfect for me to collage onto!
they look a bit wonky as I havn't stuck anything down yet!
I'll show you the finished results in the next day or two!

Christmas Paper Lantern House

A lovely lady recently left a message for me on my etsy site asking me if I was going to create a Christmas themed house.
It certainly made me wake up to the fact that Christmas really is just around the corner,
I think here idea is great and I have decide to turn it into a lantern!
It will have 4 sides and an open top,
You will be able to cut open the windows to let the tea light candle shine through.
Here is what I have done so far,
I should have it finished at the beginning of next week!

1950's Vogue knitting books

As you probably know by now, one of my biggest delights is discovering 1950's treasures (amongst the groovy 60's and 70's and hideous 80's!)
During this weekend's hunt and to my delight I found a pile of Vogue knitting magazines for 50 cents!
 I don't know about you but to me they are simply stunning, sometimes I wish I was born into this era.
I might just have to dust of my knitting needles and give one of these a go!
