lemons galore!

having an overenthusiastic lemon tree has it's advantages, especially when trying to decide what to sell at our local market day!

My son Austin 16, is in the throws of building his own computer and with a little coaxing form me I encouraged him to sell hies lemon wares this Saturday,

It went very well! and he is now on his way to having it up and running!

oh yes, someone was selling 50's scarves and I had to buy these 2 cuties, the top one is made of the finest silk, isn't it sweet!

Spring flower photos

I don't know if this happens where you live but here in New Zealand our weather seems to run in 7 day cycles, it seems that every Friday when I go for my walk with Annie, it is absolutely perfect, these photos show spring in it's infancy, the first buds, late winter camellias  and my all time fave, blossoms. I could gobble them up! with my eyes of course!

What a lovely surprise! I popped down to our local post office to pay some bills (uck!) and was handed a parcel, in it I found the lovely Jane Foster cushion I had recently won! it looks perfect on my 1950's chair don't you think!

 Yippee, i received a lovely email this morning from one of my fave designers Jane Foster telling me I had won one of here beautiful cushions! I am thrilled, it will certainly brighten my home on the inside even if the weather is very dull outside!

I've got plenty to do but I always manage to find the time to have a little fun experimenting with repeats, I  really enjoy entering a single tile and seeing it completely change once it's repeated, like these colourful paper houses.

I love colour!

I've spent quite some time on Saturday afternoon painting a fresh pile of paper in the most gorgeous hues, it's a fabulous way to inspire me. I also managed to find time to visit my favorite treasure shop, I found these wonderfully summery items,I Love the colours, the shape of the tray and the kitsch Spanish scene, these are things that make my heart sing!

dreaming of spring fabric collection

 

 I'm sure it's a subconscious thing but I really am dreaming of spring as I sit at my computer, a hot water bottle on my feet and one on my lap, I don't know about you but sitting at the computer on a cold day makes me feel stiff like an old person, to loosen up again I feel the need to go for a brisk walk along the beach even though it's blowing a gale!

sorry Mel, I don't know the name of the flower, surprisingly it isn't a Camellia, it is growing low under the Camellia bush.

make your own pretty nechlaces

 I was rummaging around in my jewelry box yesterday evening, I had to find something reasonably posh for an event I was going to when I rediscovered these necklaces I had made a while ago, they made me smile, I remembered the fun I had sewing all sorts of little beads and sequins on a length of pretty french trim, you could do the same! it's easy and the effect is quite pretty!
